The Al-Kindi Society of Engineers held its 25th Annual Conference on Saturday, 22 July 2019, at the Civic Centre, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, in London, United Kingdom. The annual conference was attended by members of the Al-Kindi Society of Engineers in Britain, a number of specialists in the engineering and economic fields, members of the Iraqi community, and representatives of civil society associations and organisations in the United Kingdom.
The annual conference was opened by Dr Alaa Al-Ani, President of the Al-Kindi Society of Engineers in Britain, who welcomed the distinguished guests and gave a presentation on the Society’s activities and future events. The Society’s Executive Committee also presented the plan it had prepared for the previous year. Engineer Osama Mohammed, a certified consulting engineer in the field of transport in London, presented the strategy of the Al-Kindi Society of Engineers and its new and future vision. The activities and events carried out by the Society were also reviewed, followed by speeches from representatives of associations and civil society organisations in the United Kingdom, such as the Association of Iraqi Academics, the Iraqi Cultural Centre, and the Environment Society.
The administrative and financial reports for the previous year were also presented, and both reports were approved by the conference. It is worth noting that the conference decided that elections for the Al-Kindi Society of Engineers in Britain would be held every two years instead of annually, in order to give the new Executive Committee members sufficient flexibility and time to carry out their increasing responsibilities in the future and intensify their efforts in service of the Society. The conference also decided that members would be elected without naming the President, and that the selection of the Society’s President would be assigned to the newly elected Executive Committee members during their first meeting. Dr Alia Al-Hamdani and fellow engineer Muntadhar Tariq were honoured by the Society for their great efforts and pioneering role in the Al-Kindi Society, and for their work in ensuring its continuity and development over many years. They were recognised as honorary members in appreciation of their continued membership for more than ten years and their ongoing support for the Society. The title of Fellow of the Al-Kindi Society was also granted to fellow engineer Muntadhar Tariq following his application for promotion and the approval of the Awards and Nominations Committee.
At the conclusion of the conference, the attending members were thanked for their efforts in supporting the Society and supporting construction and development efforts in Iraq’s engineering sector. The members of the new Executive Committee held their first meeting on Wednesday, 26 July 2019. Dr Alaa Al-Ani was unanimously elected President of the Al-Kindi Society of Engineers in Britain, and tasks and responsibilities were also distributed during this meeting.
عقدت جمعية الكندي للمهندسين مؤتمرها السنوي الخامس والعشرين في يوم السبت الموافق 22 يوليو (تموز) 2019 في السيفك سنتر- رويال كنسينغتون وتشيلسي في العاصمة البريطانية لندن. حضر المؤتمر السنوي أعضاء جمعية الكندي للمهندسين في بريطانيا ، وعدد من المختصين بالمجال الهندسي والاقتصادي ، وجمع من الجالية العراقية ، وعدد من ممثلي جمعيات ومنظمات المجتمع المدني في المملكة المتحدة
افتتح المؤتمر السنوي الدكتور علاء العاني رئيس جمعية الكندي للمهندسين في بريطانيا الذي رحب بالضيوف الكرام وقدم عرضا عن نشاطات الجمعية وفعاليتها المستقبلية. و قدمت الهيئة الإدارية للجمعية عرضا للخطة التي وضعتها للعام المنصرم ، وعرض المهندس اسامة محمد وهو مهندس استشاري معتمد في مجال النقل في لندن إستراتيجية جمعية الكندي للمهندسين والرؤى الجديدة والمستقبلية لها ، كما وتم استعراض النشاطات والفعاليات التي قامت بها الجمعية ، تلتها كلمات من قبل ممثلي الجمعيات ومنظمات المجتمع المدني في المملكة المتحدة كرابطة الاكاديميين العراقيين في المملكة المتحدة ، والمنتدى الثقافي ، جمعية البيئة.
هذا وتم كذلك عرض التقرير الإداري والمالي للسنة الماضية وقد تمت الموافقة على التقريرين الإداري والمالي من قبل المؤتمر. والجدير بالذكر أن المؤتمر قرر ان تجرى انتخابات جمعية الكندي للمهندسين في بريطانيا كل سنتين بدل من سنة واحدة لإعطاء المرونة والوقت الكافي لأعضاء الهيئة الإدارية الجديدة للقيام بمهماتها المتزايدة بالمستقبل وتكثيف جهودها بما يخدم الجمعية . و قرر المؤتمرون أن يتم انتخاب الاعضاء دون تسمية الرئيس وان يتم إناطة مسألة اختيار رئيس الجمعية إلى أعضاء الهيئة الإدارية الجديدة المنتخبه خلال الاجتماع الأول لهم . وتم انتخاب الزملاء المهندسين المدرجة أسماؤهم أدناه في الهيئة الإدارية لهذه الدورة

وتم تكريم الدكتورة عالية الحمداني و الزميل المهندس منتظر طارق من قبل الجمعية لجهودهما الكبيرة ودورهما الريادي في جمعية الكندي والعمل على استمرارها وتطويرها لسنوات عديدة واعتبارهم أعضاء شرف تقديرا لاستمرار عضويتهم لأكثر من عشر سنوات ودعمهم المستمر للجمعية. كما وتم منح لقب زميل جمعية الكندي للزميل المهندس منتظر طارق بعد طلب الترقية والحصول على موافقة لجنة الجوائز والترشيحات.
في ختام المؤتمر تم شكر الاعضاء الحاضرين على جهودهم في دعم الجمعية ودعم جهود البناء لتطوير القطاع الهندسي في العراق. هذا وعقد أعضاء الهيئة الإدارية الجديدة اول اجتماع لهم في يوم الأربعاء الموافق 26 يوليو (تموز) 2019 وتم بالإجماع انتخاب الدكتور علاء العاني رئيس جمعية الكندي للمهندسين في بريطانيا كما وتم في هذا الاجتماع توزيع المهام والمسؤوليات.
