DESCRIPTION:To download the slide pack as a pdf file please click hereDownload\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Complex Systems Special Interest Group of Al-Kindi Society of Engineers\, in collaboration with the UK section of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME-UK) invite you to this upcoming webinar in the series of webinars on Complex Systems. \n\n\n\nEvent Brief:Three words: complexity\, nonlinearity and chaos can be considered as the building blocks for the third revolution in science. The first one started with Newton`s laws\, the second with Einstein equations and quantum theory. The third is something totally different\, complexity\, nonlinearity and chaos are the building blocks of this new science. It touches every science humanity has ever known. The seed for this science was planted in the 19th century\, the real plant started to grow up in the 70s and 80s of the 20th century. This science has grown so fast that by the late of the 20th century and beginning of the 21st century\, to the extent that it has touched every corner of our lives. \n\n\n\nAs engineers\, we use this new science in modelling complex systems. \n\n\n\nComplex systems are systems whose behaviour is intrinsically chaotic and difficult to model due to the dependencies\, competitions\, relationships\, or other types of interactions between their parts or between a given system and its environment. Examples of complex systems are Earth’s global climate\, infrastructure such as power grid\, transportation or communication systems\, and socio-economic organizations (like cities). \n\n\n\nIn this introductory lecture to the Complex Systems webinar series\, Dr Ali Albadri will introduce the building blocks and history of this new science to show how it has evolved to the maturity we see now.

SUMMARY:مستقبل مياه الخليج العربي والموانئ العراقية
DESCRIPTION:يسعدنا استضافة الكابتن سامي العبيدي في هذه الندوة ليلقي الضوء على مستقبل مياه الخليج العربي والأهمية الاستراتيجية للموانئ العراقية للاقتصاد والصناعة والتجارة للعراق ومنطقة الخليج العربي \n\n\n\nإن الموقع الجغرافي للموانئ العراقية له أهمية كبيرة في جذب عدد من الصناعات الأساسية من أجل الاستفادة من الموقع البحري في عمليات الاستيراد والتصدير اللازمة لإدامة العمل في هذه الصناعات لذا تم إنشاء موانئ ذات قاعدة صناعية-تجارية من أجل الاستفادة من أرصفتها في العمليات التجارية والصناعية. كما تعد محافظة البصرة المنفذ البحري الوحيد الذي يربط العراق بالعالم الخارجي حيث يمتلك العراق أربعة موانئ تجارية رئيسية في المحافظة وهي ميناء ام قصر وخور الزبير وابو فلوس وميناء المعقل. كما يعتبر ميناء الفاو الكبير من المشاريع الاستراتيجية العملاقة وقد يلعب دورًا رئيسيًا في مبادرة الحزام والطرق الصينية لربط الخليج العربي بالبحر المتوسط و بشمال أوروبا وسيكون لهذا الميناء اثر كبير على الاقتصاد العراقي والإقليمي بعد إنشائه \n\n\n\nعن المتحدث \n\n\n\nالكابتن سامي العبيديالكابتن سامي العبيدي مستشار واختصاص في الملاحة البحرية تخرج من المملكة المتحدة عام 1979 وعمل في الشركات الملاحية متدرجا من ضابط بحري الى ربان اعالي البحار عام 1993 عمل كمساح ومفتش بحري في مجال نقل منصات النفط والغاز ومدير مشاريع للحفر البحري وكذلك مستشار لأسطول اليخوت الاميرية في قطر
