In the age of increased cyber attacks and cyber threats, it is the priority of governments and operators to protect a region’s vital infrastructures such as agriculture, electricity, and transportation. This webinar will outline the importance of critical infrastructure protection, current approaches for protecting both critical infrastructure and critical data from cyber-attacks, and future direction in cyber threat intelligence.  There will be a panel discussion on capacity building and collaboration opportunities with Iraq to develop the next generation of cyber security experts and practitioners. The event will be held in the Arabic language, with the slides in English.

Invited Speakers

Dr Asaad Moosa

Asaad is a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) with extensive experience in public sector (including UK Gov FCO & DFID), private sector and critical national infrastructure. He is Global Advisory Board Member for EC-Council Incident Handler (ECIH).
Dr Jafar Albadran

Jafar is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for IT with over 20 years of experience in the IT Sector, of which over 10 years as a Data Protection consultant to wide variety of clients in the financial, educational, media, retail, and governmental institutions.

Haider is a Reader in Cybersecurity at the Wolverhampton Cyber Research Institute (WCRI), University of Wolverhampton. He is a project lead for R&D and Knowledge Transfer activities with over 12 years of experience in the UK’s HE sector. Haider has also worked on the NCSC’s CyberFirst initiative, a pivotal part of the UK government’s National Cyber Security Programme to develop the UK’s next generation of cyber professionals.
